we should make fun of americans more. why dont their shops include tax in the price tag. like how much does this item cost? its a surprise 🙂

Honestly, tea. I’ve lived here my whole life and I have never once known what my total is gonna be at the register. Total fucking mystery.

im an ex-american living in new zealand for the past two years and it still never fails to blow my mind that i can take a $2 coin, walk up to a counter with two $1 items, and perform the expected transaction

this callout is completely deserved

Genuinely can someone explain why though? There must be a REASON. Like it’s fun to make this joke but at the same time I am DYING TO KNOW WHY ITS THE CASE.

@wiwaxia It’s because each of the states, and often individual towns/counties, assesses their own various taxes (which can change yearly, depending on local ballot measures) and vary wildly.  I always figured companies just couldn’t be bothered to print different signs or labels for different places.

So here is just one of a hundred of policy documents Hillary’s team has released…she is ready to hit the ground running. She does constant press releases on these and the press does nothing but ignore them in favor of the Next Stupid Thing Donald Has Vomited From His Pie Hole.  But man, I hope she wins because she has such terrific ideas.  I want to see her have a chance to make them real.

Gary Johnson, otoh, has written ~300 words each on the issues he considers important to our country. That’s it. 217 words total on a quality topic like taxes. 286 words covers his thoughts on jobs and labor. Does he think he’s running for class president, here?

Ditto Jill Stein, whose idea of taking this seriously involves a platform statement of 3K words and 650 wd “Power to the People” plan. That’s it in toto.  A real thinker this gal.  She’s put her all into this.

Neither of these clowns is any more deserving of high office than the racist cheese doodle, who, btw, doesn’t do much better with only 13 issues and about 1000 wds per.

Where is Walter Cronkite when you need him?
